Richard Miles, Paul Roche and Anne Rogerson are all members of a Sydney-based research project, the Latin Poetry of Roman North Africa, which investigates literary culture and its socio-political contexts from the third to the sixth centuries. Housed in the Department of Classics and Ancient History, the network constitutes the first effort to establish an axis of research collaboration that specifically targets the close but under-acknowledged relationship between classical thought and contemporary critique.
